Story context
Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)
The adventure begins after the victory: Frieren has already helped defeat the Demon King, but understanding the people who travelled beside her proves a much longer task. Her return to the road makes familiar places feel different as human lifetimes pass around her. Watch how brief encounters acquire meaning later, rather than expecting every episode to build toward another battle.

Which early decision changes what the protagonist can do next? Separate the intention from the result.
Start with a specific scene, then separate what happens from how you interpret it.
Compare the character's goal at that point with the choice they actually make.
